Ocimum basilicum L.
A mixture of green-leaved Basil genovese and red-leaved Basil rosso. They are excellent fresh or as a pesto.
Grows to 40-60 cm tall, likes warmth, sensitive to frost. Basil is an essential part of the organic garden. Plant it between or next to tomatoes as it is a protective plant for tomatoes.
It can be planted in a greenhouse from January to April, but when sowing it is important to ensure that light is needed for germination.
Germination is facilitated by the seed disc. When planting, fill a pot with soil, press down lightly, then place the seed discs on top in the centre and water. Do not cover with soil. Be sure to keep the soil moist during germination. It is not necessary to thin. The planting disk will decompose in the soil.
The germination period is 10-15 days. Can be sown in open ground from mid-May to mid-June.
Planting distance 25 x 20 cm.
Lots of water and temperatures below 8 degrees Celsius cause the leaves to turn brown. Does not need much water.
Leaves can be harvested all summer. If the shoot tip is cut off, it will produce new shoots.
The bag contains five planting discs.
ReinSaat organic seeds from controlled organic farming.
