The legendary Opinel pocket knife made of carbon steel
The word "carbon" in the name of these pocket knives refers to the fact that the blades are made of carbon steel, which is harder than stainless steel. This makes the knives sharper and easier to sharpen. At the same time, however, they are not stainless, which means that it is advisable to apply a little oil to the blades after cleaning.
The handle is made of varnished beech wood.
The knives are equipped with a reversible safety lock ring (Virobloc), which both prevents the blade from closing during use and makes it easier to open than conventional knives.
Opinel has been a family business in the French department of Savoie since 1890, whose pocket knives speak for themselves and whose quality is outstanding.
