Molere hand mill – laminated beech wood

The Molere hand mill is a mill made of laminated beech wood by Hawos.

Grinding is carried out by corundum-ceramic grinding stones, which grind all types of grain. Molere's grinding stones can be adjusted without grading, so that both fine-grained flour and coarsely ground semolina can be produced.

The corundum ceramic millstones are self-sharpening, which in practice means that their surface always remains rough. The surface of natural stones such as granite becomes mirror-like after a while, which is why in the old days the miller was also a stone carver, and had to carve the stones. Corundum stones in use today can be used for many years without any maintenance.

Before grinding, the millstone should be fixed to a stable surface, a table top or the edge of a kitchen counter, which should be no more than 5 cm thick. The grinder comes with a glass bowl that fits comfortably under the spout.

The grinding performance depends on our strength and the type of grain, which determines its hardness.

The challenge for Steffen Reuther, developer of the Hawos milling company, was to move away from energy-consuming electric mills to simpler manual mills.

The result, the Molere, is a practical mill for everyday kitchen use. The corundum ceramic millstone is robust and provides excellent grinding results.

The removable hopper sits on rectangular, sturdy wooden blocks, behind which the millstone is hidden.

The fineness can be adjusted with two wing nuts. The crank is ergonomically shaped and easy to turn. Two table clamps ensure that the hand mill stands firmly. Sturdy construction and simple operation.
